Australia wins toss, bats against Pakistan

LEEDS, England(AP) Australia has won the toss and will bat against Pakistan in the second test at Headingley on Wednesday.

Pakistan, captained by Salman Butt for the first time, makes one change to the side which lost the first test at Lord's, with Shoaib Malik replacing former captain Shahid Afridi.

Australia is unchanged as Marcus North has shaken off an illness and Ben Hilfenhaus has revovered from a shoulder injury.

Umpire Rudi Koertzen, 61, is officiating in his 108th and final test match before retirement, ending a 17-year career.

Australia leads the two-match series 1-0.
